What's going on with my yellow molly?

My molly goes to the top alot and gulps air. Doesn't matter if I have the air stone on or off. I have an ECCO filter so there's a strong stream flowing through also.

Some fish do that.. Mine does it occasionally.. but only one gulp, then back to swimming. Probably looking for food or something.

Does your molly breathe heavily?

sometimes fish will go to the top for light warmth if there is no heater, you haven't mentioned whether you have a heater

also of course check your ammonia/nitrite/nitrate levels, in case your molly is suffering from toxic shock
