What's going on with the spectators at the Open; they keep shouting as if they are at a football game?

I thought they were supposed to be a classier lot at the golf

The weather was such that some " suds " were warranted. And if you are sitting around in the wind, drizzle  and uncomfortable temperatures with a few belts of booze, some start to get boisterous. They did calm down before most every shot so they did observe decorum.
