What's going on with the weather/environment?

With the Chile volcano errupting after being dormant for 9000 years - the cyclone in Myranamar- the deadly storms here in the US this weekend and now the horrible earthquake in China...

I just don't recall seeing so many weather related catastrophic events so often... it's only May.

I am freaked out now for Hurricane Season as I live in Florida...

are you talking about a nostradamus prophecy? well, i think we should be just thankful we are not part of those and help those who are in need. past is the past. a present is what we call a gift (that's why it is present). we all have only to fight global warming. also, it is man who do disaster, like if not with illegal logging there wouldn't be any floods.

No change in the climate or natural events, just news coverage of things that never before got reported.  Relax and go on trying to have a happy life.

I say global warming is causing of of this. Even though dont worry.Just follow the safty instructions for a hurricane and you'll be fine.Relax. :)

I also live in Florida (North Central, near Gainesville), but I'm no more worried about hurricanes than any other year. Besides the Earth is a dynamic planet so changes occur, usually unpredictably. Just be aware of things that can happen in your part of the country; prepare accordingly but don't let it run your life.

This happens all the time.  Research natural disasters, they've been going on since the dawn of time.  Remember 2004? Same thing--Gee we are still here.  The worst earthquake ever was in 1556....

I agree with you.  I live in "tornado alley" in Texas and we have had numerous tornado warnings lately, but thankfully  haven't had them touch down like what is happening in Ok, Mo, Ak, Ga, etc.  And it seems we are hearing earthquakes all the time now.  I just heard on the news of the devastating 7.8 mag earthquake in China this morning. Yeah, what's going on?
