What's going to happen to me?

this morning i was driving home from driving my boyfriend to work. I was following a big truck and decided to try taking a detour on the road i'd never taken before. i'd seen other cars turn off at earlier roads on my way home before and saw them later on down my route so i thought the road would connect to the rest of the road. as it turns out the road was a dead end but there were no signs saying no exit or dead end. i reached these train tracks and all i could see behind them was the river. the road disappeared and it was really dark there were no street lights down there. i panicked and ended up partially driving onto the tracks and my car got stuck. it was a stupid mistake and i ended up having to wake a guy up in a nearby house to help me. everything turned out ok. a guy from the railroad and a cop came and towed my car out. the cop looked at my driver's license took a statement from me and said i could go. the cop had already called a tow truck and it was on its way. i supposed he called it back to cancel after i left. my question is what happens now? am i going to get a fine because they had to stop a train while they were getting my car off the tracks? will that affect my insurance? will i get charged for the tow truck even though it wasn't used but was disbatched? if so how much will it cost?

  1. it depends..

    1 did u get a ticket

    2 did u get a bill

3 what did the cop/person towing u say

4 sounds like you lucked out in more ways than one...drive safe will ya?

  2. if it,s your first offense, the cop might let you off with just a warning. if i were in your position, i would turn around in the middle of the road, if i had to back up several times. just don,t do that again, you were lucky this time, you could have been killed.

  3. your cool just dont try that again

  4. Don't worry, be happy.

You didn't call the tow truck, so you are not responsible.

The railroad has no mechanism for billing you, and they are probably happy they don't need to clean up the debris left over from colliding with a car on the track.

The police did not issue a citation, so your insurance company won't know of your misadventure.
