  1. level of waterbodies will rise

and then lowlying places like Mumbai & Shanghai will submurge in water !!!!!!!!!!!

  2. you and I will never know, because it ain't going to happen sorry to disappoint you.

  3. It'll be fun in the sun!

  4. Hmm... won't totally melt, but yeah polar bears would be affected cause they'd have less hunting ground for seals....

Then low lying islands and coastals would get submerge as sea levels rise due to polar ice melts...

Finally we would'nt have to look further into the future as we'd be dead - so we'll leave that worrying to our grandkids n their kids.

  5. I doubt that you can fathom this.

The Earth was a primordial flaming ball of liquid magma when it began.

ALL heat dissipates and eventually Earth will return to an permanent  Ice Age especially when the core temperature cools.  All life on Earth will be long gone (frozen to death) before that point.  You had better enjoy the little heat we have been experiencing (about 1 degree) over the last century.

Would you rather freeze to death or sweat a little more?

  6. Derail, please post your source for where you got the information that the ice caps are NORMAL. They receed farther every summer and do not regain their size in the winter. I've provided MY sources, please prove that you are not a troll and provide YOURS.

No matter what, click the links and see for yourself. If I'm "part of the hoax" then you have nothing at all to fear from clicking the links and proving me wrong. The links are from NASA, the NDRC, CNN, BBC, and there is a video. There is So much more out there i could paste links all day.

Go ahead, think I'm "lying" because I have a crush on Al Gore or something, but at least check out the science and ask yourself if it sounds credible.

Okay... please ignore the other answers.

Now, first. Have you ever walked on a black driveway on a hot day in your bare feet? Then you know that dark colors retain the sun's energy (or heat) very well. If you've ever been blinded by the snow, you'll know that white acts like a mirror and reflects the sun's energy very well. The melting of ice caps means that the large white mirrors of the world will be replaced by large dark surfaces, which will absorb more heat and cause our oceans to warm. We cannot fully know what effect this will have on the ocean currents which are responsible for our climate (the reason why Europe is warmer than Canada, but is on the same latitude, is an ocean current), but we know that the system of ocean currents MUST dramatically alter, since they are created by ocean temperature and saltiness. We also KNOW that many species can't stand an increase in ocean temperatures. The coral reefs are bleaching (dying) already, which means that all the fish that lay eggs there and count of those reefs for life won't survive. Salmon are already in extreme decline, as are many other cold water fish, and so are the plankton which feed the entire ocean ecosystem. Already polar bears are dying out, because the winter ice they need to hunt on and live on is cracking up and shrinking, and many are having to choose between starving to death and drowning. A warmer ocean will also fuel more severe hurricanes.

If Greenland alone melts down, then our sea levels will rise about 20 feet, which will create hundreds of millions of refugees. Most of NYC and San Fransisco will be underwater, for example.

Also, our air temp is already set to rise by an average of three degrees in the next few decades, which doesn't sound like much to someone who doesn't really understand, but in fact will cause huge changes to our rainfall. If the ice caps are gone, the temp will raise more.

All this is pure science, not opinion. No matter what you believe, this is all happening.

Some say that the Arctic will be ice free in 30 years. And if that isn't scary enough, already the oil companies and northern countries are bickering over who will own the new sea at the top of our world.

You can, and should, google all of these facts for yourself. I'll try to give you some links.

No one with ANY education or intellegence is denying this anymore... even George Bush has admitted that this is happening. There are a few people who come on this site to get attention by saying stupid things like "it won't happen" and "fun in the sun". We are all responsible for educating ourselves. God bless!

  7. I don't know. i was going to ask that question...

  8. When all the polar icecaps melt, the oceans will be overflowing with water, and many people will drown or freeze. No more Arctic life, not a lot of land left. Sad to think, but true. No penguins, or Polar Bears. No seald. No people of the Arctic.

  9. the polar ice caps are not going to melt. We are just going though a hot season( like the ice age) and soon ( well maybe in  a couple of years) we will have a cold season.

  10. IF,,, the north pole melts (south pole is growing by the way), People who live on the coast will have to move inland.

  11. Bad things...plz do what you can to green your life

    Sea level will rise

    Today is Earth Hour Day

At 8pm your time, shut your lights off!

  12. In contrast to Smilelts, Al Gore, and the media, here are a couple things they won't tell you. The Arctic ice cap was normal this last winter. And, the Antarctic ice sheet has been becoming thicker in recent years. But there's no alarm in these facts, and they are often discarded by the media. The climate is changing apparently, and has for quite some time. But it has in the past, and recent past too. This opposing info is out there. It just takes a bit more effort to find it. Humans respond naturally to drama and alarming information. It's what we do. The media plays on these instincts. The more alarming, the better. I'm reserving my reactions until there's more info.
