  1. Eyyy another Houstonian!

I'm not really sure- I found about a week ago that one of my favorite stations had become a solely-Hispanic station- and that the old station had gotten a new "number"

  2. Just part of the "dumbing down" of Houston radio. Heaven forbid we actually have one or two radio stations that play something that deviates from the mainstream. That's ok though, this was the last station I really listened to anyways. I'm not gonna miss the commercials one bit.

  3. I was completely shocked when I turned my radio on at work this morning.  I really enjoyed the smooth jazz format.  I guess I'll stick around to see if this "new" station is going to play anything other than "Please Don't Stop the Music".  I've heard it at least 3 times in the last 2 hours!!!  *smh*

  4. Not all dance but will rumored to be a churban leaning CHR (radio term for top 40 focused on the urban half of playlist ) to compete against KRBE 104.1 and KPTY 93.3

Most smooth Jazz formats have been blown out in the recent past due to low ratings

My guess is expect the smooth jazz to be on HD radio on one of the frequencies soon as formats that are popular but do not make a lot of revenue have been heading HD radio way lately

  5. Well what's new?  Been a listener since the wave came on. It was my stress release during work and  @home....ohhh, well- Hopefully ktsu will always be around for H-town. Loyalty is king..

  6. I noticed the same thing yesterday afternoon!  I'm able to listen to the Wave online, but on the radio it's some dance/hip hop station...I'll be sooo sad to see the Wave gone!

  7. I wish they would keep thier smooth jazz format.  We have enough hip hop.  I do not like hip hop.

  8. I don't know what's happening with the Wave here either, and it really annoys me!  I DO mind that they seem to be playing all this dance music when they should be playing smooth jazz.  It's the only thing that relaxes me when I go to bed at night, and in bad traffic too!  I'm going to email them to find out what the deal is.  I hope they don't change formats.  Houston doesn't need anymore "hits" stations.

  9. Radio is a business.

Smooth jazz is dying as a format, and never was very successful to begin with.

It's all about the advertising dollars you pull in.

I've seen it fail in city after large city.
