So would the Tyson Chicken Nuggets be healthier than the Chik'n Nuggets since the chik'n nuggets aren't really meat?

  1. With real chicken you are getting complete, high-quality protein and a lot of your vitamin requirements.

If vegetarian foods were as good as omnivorous ones, vegetarians wouldn't go around giving mock meat names to their concoctions.

  2. Nothing deep fried can be good for you, whatever it is made of.

  3. I would assume the veggie version, they usually are. I saw a video of a factory where they make mcnuggets and they start off as a ball of slime, seriously. They are slime balls with the same consistancy of say a big piece of snot (same colour also) and they go into a machine and come out as mcnuggets.

  4. Who told you meat is healthy? Chicken in fact, is the most unhealthy meat around you: the average North American eats over 50 pounds of chicken each year, which is twice the amount that was consumed twenty years ago. Most people see chicken as a healthy alternative to beef and as a low-fat and wholesome part of their diet. If you add the fact that chicken is cheap, versatile and fast, the unassuming bird seems to be the ideal entree.

Recent reports tell us that over 30% of US chicken is contaminated with Salmonella, and 62% is contaminated with Camphylobacter; these two pathogens cause 80% of the illnesses and 75% of the deaths associate with meat consumption, according to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). The chickens you eat are overweight, overgrown, and unhealthy. Reports also show that the cholesterol content of chicken can be comparable to beef at 25 milligrams per ounce.

  5. veggie chicken is healthier

  6. Chik'n - here's why.

Tyson is well known for cutting corners around treating their chickens without any decency whatsoever. Their meat routinely tests positive for roxarsone (organic arsenic), which is fed to chickens to prevent parasitic infestations (if you saw the conditions they were raised in, you'd understand why parasites spread like wildfire). They eat a diet rich in pesticides and animal byproducts, including waste, because it's cheaper than dirt. Their nuggets are full of fat and sodium.

Meanwhile, the vegetarian ones get almost a third of their calories from fat as well, are high in sodium, and have just about every ingredient that could be squeezed into it to make the dry, flavorless, processed veggie gunk they're made out of taste like anything nutritious.

That's what happens when you buy processed food though, be it real or fake meat - it's shredded, processed, manipulated, molded and stamped into a shape so it's easy to dip into BBQ sauce, stuffed with sodium, fat and other flavor-preserving agents, and then processed some more so it holds it's shape and flavor for months in the freezer until you make it.

I would say that marginally the vegetarian ones are healthier, though neither is exactly health food to begin with. It's a comfort food, something you stuff your stomach with if you don't know how to or don't have time to cook for yourself. I prefer home-made vegan nuggets from seitan (which is made from flour). I can therefore control the quality of the ingredients, and I know they're fresh, made that same day, rather than probably two years ago and then eternally frozen.

  7. well the vegetarian kind of course eating animals is wrong

  8. The Chik'n Nuggets seeing as they aren't real and isn't as much c**p in it

  9. The veg chicken is healthier because there are no hormones and antibiotics found in most chicken.  Also, chickens eat S**t, literally, and in their feed, and that is passed along to you.  They breathe disgusting air being shoved into a building with as many as 100,000 other dirty birds.  Then there are the stress hormones they release up to, and during, slaughter.  Plus all the waste that ends up all over the dead chicken body.  Plus all the bacteria that ends up on it from other bacteria-laden chickens.

And the veg chicken contains no cholesterol and is lower in bad fats.

  10. Tyson is the cruelest producer of chicken.  I don't know why you are asking a bunch of vegetarians if we think you should eat chicken.

  11. The nuggets don't have the amount of sodium or protein they contain, so it's hard to compare .......Did you realize that there's egg whites and cellulose gum in the veggie nuggets, though?

  12. They have the same amount of calories usually but the veggie chicken nuggets have much less fat and usually no cholesterol.  Also veggie chicken contains fiber, which animal products lack.

  13. The Chik'n Nuggets would defiantly be healthier.
