  1. Generally, contact with warm skin makes massage oil warm.  A small amount of heat is also generated by friction during the massage.


  2. Some add an oxidizing agent that basically begins to "rust" (oxidize) when it comes into contact with...you guessed it...oxygen.  That process creates heat.
