  1. My Kindergartner had a pb&j with a caprisun, strawberry applesauce and a homemade brownie.  She goes to grandma's and papa's house after school so I make her lunch everyday.  Oh and a bag of cheetos for a snack later on.

  2. Today they have a tortilla roll-up (spinach tortilla, turkey, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, mustard),  chips, grapes (except my eldest, he wanted a pear), peanut butter bar, and water.

Hopefully they will not be so excited about going back to school that they don't eat. lol

  3. I took my daughter to the store yesterday and let her pick a special lunch for her first day of school. I told her that she can pick 1 food that she really likes, 1 fruit or vegetable, and 1 special drink. After some searching, she chose a lunchable and apple slices. (lunchable had apple juice, chicken nuggets, ketchup, and a small piece of candy)

She use to love peanut butter sandwiches with grapes because she could stick the grapes in the sandwich and it would be kinda like pb & j. She also liked it when I would give her the ingredients to make her own sandwich at school. (bread, meat, cheese, & some veggies)

In general, I think it's best to set limits and let your kid pick what to take in their lunch. Like tell them "You are having a sandwich today. What do you want in it?" and "We need something sweet in your lunch. Pick a fruit." ... You can also make it fun by suggesting y'all pack a lunch together. Let him help you make whatever he is having for yourself. Then when he is having lunch, he will smile knowing that you are having the same thing.

  4. I packed my daughter an egg salad sandwich, tomatoes, pudding, pickles and a juice box. That is an unusual combo but it was her first day and those are all of her favorite foods.

  5. I did the usual sandwich, chips, a bottle of water and grapes. He loves sandwiches so I wasn't trying to be lazy he asks for them.  And he drinks water all day long so he likes it. He has a peanut allergy so I send him with home lunch. Like I said usually sandwiches but I try different breads, lunch meats, and snacks.
