  1. rpg stands for role playling game i know elder scrolls are rpgs i dont think zelda or metroid are though.

  2. i have never played metroid or elder scrolls. but i know that Zelda is an rpg. an rpg game is a role playing game. Zelda is considered a role playing game because you get to use some main characters in a story. like you're playing the role of that character. hense ROLE PLAYING.

basically, an RPG game is a game that you play a role of a character in a story. moving around, going on quests, all that.

    Hope I helped!

  3. Role-Playing Games (RPG) are games which allows you to make a character, and play that character in a story-based game. You start as a beginner and will train your character to become more powerful (typically known as "leveling up") as you go through the 'story' in the game. Some RPGs will have different endings, depending on the actions you choose to take during the game. Completing quests is another aspect of RPGs.

Zelda and Elder Scroll are typical RPGs, but Metroid is not. You may think Metroid is an RPG because you "take" the role of a character and go through a certain storyline. However, there are several essential differences. First, your character doesn't actually "level up". Secondly, you have platform jumping - something not typical in an RPG. Metroid is more commonly described as a "shooter, platforming adventure game".

  4. an rpg game is a Role Playing Game, hence rpg.

no those are all pretty much action games,

some well known rpgs are the final fantasy series, the wild arms series, and any other game where you have multiple players you control and usually have a turn based fighting system. aka you attack then enemies attack.

  5. RPG is short for Role Playing Game.

Or Rocket Propelled Grenade. Whichever you prefer :-P

  6. rpg is the full form for role playing game

  7. RPG - Roleplaying game

Eldar Scrolls, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Shin Megami Tensie, Fallout, Neverwinter, Diablo etc.

any gmae where you paly as a charchter or chrachters, with gmae play is very story based, n some sort of skills/stats n leveling up system.

    other game genres acronyms

JRPG - Japanese RPG, some listed above.

    MMORPG-Massively Multiplayer online RPG

World of Warcraft, Age of Conan, Runescape

    FPS - First Person Shooter

Halo, Cryisis, COD, Metorid(newer games) etc

    RTS - Real Time Statergy

Company of Heroes, Halo Wars, Dawn of War, Total War.

    TBS- Turn Based Statergy

    Civilization.

  8. The definition of an RPG is:

    RPG - Role-Playing Game

A genre in which players undertake an epic quest, building their character(s) skills and items on a mission to ultimately stop a great evil.

Singleplayer RPGs include the Final Fantasy series, Neverwinter Nights and Nintendo's Zelda, and often last over 30 hours.

Multiplayer RPGs are frequently played online, factoring in real-time combat and a teamwork dynamic. These include Guild Wars and World of Warcraft.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is regarded as the best video game ever by some but I respectfully disagree.

Elder Scroll: Oblivion is a fantastic Action RPG (not turn based) and has all your regular ingredients.

The Final Fantasy  series are regarded by most people world wide as the best RPG ever. With it's dynamic characters and storyline this is not one to be missed.

Kingdom Hearts follows Sora, a young boy bestowed with the Keyblade, sets out to fight the Heartless and Nobodies. In a game where Disney Characters and Final Fantasy Characters make plenty of appearances, this Action RPG is a sensational game with one of the best storylines, I have ever known. Usually regarded as one for beginners, Kingdom Hearts is still not an RPG to be missed.

    Of course now, you've got:

    Diablo

    World of Warcraft

    Chrono Trigger

and a whole mess of other RPG games, but the ones that stand above them all is:

    The Fable series

Fable and the extended edition Fable: The Lost Chapters, along with it's soon to be released Fable 2 are astonishing.

The game gives you choices, morale choices like should I kill him, should I steal this and often makes you put down the controller and have a think.

The consequence of the choices you make affects the way people treat you, whether cowering in fear or applauding you and complementing you.

It also affects your looks. If you are a evil person you will grow horns but if your are angelic and for the people you will see a halo appear above your head.

This game lets you get married, get "physical", train your skill, will and strength, buy and sell property and complete quests.

In the second installment of the series, Fable 2 is 10 times bigger in every way compared to the first, allows you to have a dog, very old style guns, change places around you with your choices, make sculptures of yourself and so much more.

The lesson is Fable is that "With every choice, comes a consequence".

    I hope this helps!
