  1. snowboarding is fun but you need to keep practicing at it and right when you begin you take a few spills but then as you get better you don't as much until you try to do more things but the more you practice at it the better you will get. and snowboarding is different all around the world so it depends were your going to snowboard. all different places will give you a new experience.

  2. My friend went snowboarding. It is hard at first because you really need good balance. Yes, you do take a few spills. She practiced more and more.  She is getting better at it. Practice makes perfect though.

  3. Its gonna suck your first time and the second and the third and probly the fourth. but once you get the hang of it you are gonna love it.

It all depends on how you fall and what the snow is like when you fall..if you fall in powdered snow its like falling on a pillow. the more packed the snow the more it hurts but its still not bad.

and when you get the hang of it its like your free. just floating down the mountain, its awsome. then learning how to jump, you just float thru the sky.

  4. going snowboarding is like a drug all your problems go away and its just you and your board the feeling of carving through powder is just amazing. it would cost around  300 fr a beginner setup but when u get goood its amazing.

It only dangerous when u try crazy stuff

  5. sucks learning, but after your first season you cant get enough.  then the learning curve is awesome!

  6. Ok, if you rent all your gear it will cost about 100-150$ per trip in my area, it costs significantly less than that if you bring your own gear, but i'm assuming your just starting out.

It does NOT hurt when you fall down, there is a bunch of snow under your butt lol! your A SS DOES get sore over time, but thats normal.

It is no more dangerous than any other extreme sport, the death rate is ridiculously low.

I reccommend a lesson when you first get started, it will help you infinitely.

Also, expect to bail when you first get off the ski lifts the first time you go up, but make sure you roll out of the way or they have to stop the whole ski lift which is annoying as fck for everyone.

Bring friends! Especially attractive female friends! they will motivate you to do better, because then you look macho goin down the mountain!(i remember one of the first times i went up was with a very attractive friend, i think she was sweet on me actually, trust me, it motivated me to get better, fast!)

  7. question, can you stand on one foot? ok you can snowboard. thats all it takes. Yes you will fall, yes it takes balance but if you can pressure your front foot you can snowboard. Snowboarding is all about pressure distribution. Your weight needs to be on your front foot  towards the outside of your foot and either your pinky toe or your heal to start the turn.

Please do not let anyone tell you to swing your arms or scissor your legs. I have been teaching snowboarding for 7 years and am a fully certified instructor. Those methods will only get you in trouble.

Snowboarding is only as dangerous as you make it, do not go charging down the hardest slope right away. Take a lesson.

It all depends on where you live is to how much it might cost, but usually mountains have packages for lesson, rental and lift ticket that make it somewhat affordable.

Once you master basic skills snowboarding is an amazing sport, especially if you ever get a chance to ride deep powder. One of the best feelings I have ever had.

  8. It's like flight :)

  9. FREEDOOOMMM!!!! Ha... ya baby Snowboarding is the ultimate let lose ride! If your still a new boarder takes some classes or get a friend to teach you. Also wear wrist protection.... most new riders fall and try to catch themselves with their hands  === broken wrist.  I wouldn't buy any gear until you know you like boarding. Rent until you know what you like and don't like. Rentals usually run around $40 for boots, binding and board. Get out and try it...you will never know what its like until you do!

  10. i agree with what everyone said your first time you will fall a ton of times, no exageration, but i still had fun my first time although my second time was even more fun my third even more fun and my fourth even more fun, it gets more fun as you get better, a few tips- stretch before and after you go snowboarding, might eas up the soreness, also when you fall just tuck and roll, DON'T stick out your legs and arms while falling to stop yourself!!!!!!! because you have weak points all over that might get caught in the snow and might break. here is a site that should help you alot for your first time

    http://www.sportskool.com/videos/beginne...

good luck you will have a ton of fun and it only gets better after that. trust me.

  11. as everyone has said yeah it will probably suck your first time constantly falling on your *** and bruises but after you do it the first couple of times you will be addicted to it:) seriously i cant get enough of it now:) also since you are a beginner a few private lessons to get you started can seriously help:)

  12. Snowboarding is AWESOME! I just started 2 months ago and I've snowboarded 4 times and will be 5th time this weekend. It is an addicting sport, and I kept saying to myself that I should've started snowboarding sooner (I'm already 24).

Snowboarding is probably the most dangerous when compared to skiing. A lot of places on your body is vulnerable to injuries, such as your wrist, your ankles, your knees, your tailbone, and your head... significantly more so than skiing. But if you learn how to fall and take proper lessons, you'll decrease the chances of getting injured and will have a blast!

A day trip with a tour bus that inclues bus rides, lift ticket, equipment rental, and beginner's lesson will be about $130-$150. It will be hard for your first day, but i guarantee you'll have much more fun the 2nd time around.

Hope that helps! Give it a try, you won't regret it.

  13. well on the first day it is really hard! but on the 2 day is is sooo much fun!!! it dose hurt when you fall some times but if you go snowboarding later in the day when the snow is slushy it doesn't hurt as much to fall, but i would definitely suggest getting lessons ! and Price i would have to say with renting a board, boots , bindings, lift ticket,  and lessons would be about $200- $250.

AND wear a helmet and get wrist guards. trust me you will need them!!!

  14. its sooooooooo awsome!!!

its not soo dangerous, but one time i saw i guy break his neck on a jump....oh, and an old lady fell of the ski lift once too, and yes it does hurt to fall when your a beginner.

  15. Everyone one has a different experience when learning to snowboard. Some people say it is hard while others say it's easy. The best way to learn is by getting lessons. They are quite cheap and most resorts include the lift and snowboard gear rental. Yes you will fall in the beginning but that is normal. I remember my 1st time up on the mountain i kept falling on my butt but you know that's how you learn. You just got to get up and keep trying. Usually most people can do down the bunny hill without falling at the end of their first day. Just a little warning, since your body insn't used to riding the next day your muscles will ache but like i said it's normal especially when you are learning. All sports are dangerous. If you do the sport the right way your chances are that you will not get hurt. Yes it's easy to loose control of the board but that's why you start out on the bunny hill where the slopes are only slightly steep. I honestly don't think snowboarding is dangerouse but I've gotten badly injured. Not during the learning stage. Once you become a confident rider you'll  start doing tricks (learn bad habits) and and that's when you get most of the injuries from. You don't land where you are supposed to or you slip of the pipes.LOL .Trust me it is a great sport. I'm sure you will have lots of fun learning. Once you experience what it's like you are going to want to go out and buy your own gear. For now go up to your nearest resort get some lessons, rent your gear and you should be good to go. Hope this helps.
