  1. It's dull and boring, especially if your a woman.

  2. The word Muslim is an adjective for a person following the religion of Islam. Islam means two things: Peace and Submission. And that's exactly what it's like being a Muslim. Being a Muslim doesn't necessarily mean only peace within yourself and others around you. There are a lot of responsibilities that come with being one. You have to try and avoid the relationship with worldly things and work for the hereafter. Islam is big on Karma. Being a Muslim means anything you do that harms another will come back to you. As a Muslim, you would have to follow strict rules in the Quran which ranges from everything to do with they way you dress, behave, interact with people and nature, etc. By following these rules to the utmost of your ability, you will find peace and harmony between you, mankind, and nature. Islam basically balances everything out in your life. Islam is also big on "prevention" before "treatment". That means, avoiding not only fornication or adultery, but coming near anything that can lead to that (being alone in a room with the opposite s*x). It means not getting drunk, by not taking one sip, coming near it, or serving it. The rules seem pretty extreme, but once you actually try them out, it sort of flows. Islam isn't something you just "try". It requires a lot of studying and searching, with an open mind. You will come across a lot of propaganda, media fallacies, and misconceptions. Be sure that the Islam you learn is Islam itself, and not the media's portrayal of it. Being a Muslim also means struggling with those misconcepions, and struggling within yourself. The struggle of the self is the true meaning of Jihad (not what the Media protrays as suicide bombing). For a man, the religion isn't as hard to follow or grip onto. A woman, will face more proplems as she is under every society's microscope. The oppression and objectifying of women are some of the common misconceptions. As a Muslim woman, I am constantly asked why I submit to a religion where I am second class, property, flesh for man. I am non of the above. It takes a lot of patience to have to explain all these misconceptions about violence, terrorism, oppression, etc. But with that, comes a deeper and more clear understanding of my own faith. I would have to say, out of all faiths, Muslims are facing the worst when it comes to media depiction, 99.99% false. As a Muslim, we are supposed to set an example of what a true Muslim is and correct those problems by correcting ourselves.

Hope this answers your question =]

  3. It's peace with God, peace with your brother, and peace within your own soul.

love for all, hatred for none

  4. i feel peace, contentment, protected and valued in the right way. but of course, it takes hard times in facing the world to strengthen your faith through rightful deeds. however, those pains were actually for a worthy gain. through rightful doings in this religion is where it has built the real kind of confidence, fitness, intelligence happiness and self-value as a woman, etc.

although as we always have ups and downs, that's where other than the great feelings i get being a Muslim, there were times where i feel down and wondering why it seems so hard to be a Muslim woman. however, realizing that it's all the modernization pressures, it has then helped allot as motivation. something like from hatred to love thing.

always, to get the right meanings of Islam in your life is to do the right thing according to the religion, AND. do the thing right. that's where you are then qualified for the peaceful gifts in world, and heaven (inshaAllah) in hereafter. oh, and speaking of hereafter, this is the part where you'll make effort to get over this world as much as you can, that ends you up in peace and happiness. as how Yousuf said it "happiness is wanting what you get"

and to be honest, since i could keep good the Islamic faith and deeds (thank God), i never remembered of getting bored. life's always fun even when you're not having much entertainments!

  21. The most wonderful feeling. Peace and serenity with yourself and the world.

  22. It's like being any normal individual who not only lives life for himself, but others and especially God who is the sole purpose we're here in the first place. I can't speak for people of other faiths, but the Muslims I know and myself, feel that it doesn't matter what we lose, gain, achieve, at the end of the day God is still with us and there is nothing that can outweigh the presence of God in our lives.

I do appreciate that you asked this question from Muslims, because only we can tell you what it's like being a Muslim. Not like others who are NOT Muslims, but are ranting about what it's like being one. As though they've lived our lives or can read our minds. Spurs, you know who I'm talking about.
