What's it like competing in women's cross-country at the college level?

What is the distance that college women run? What time is considered competitive and what is training like?

  1. wow Im surprised You got in the top ten of most of your races with times in the 20's..


  2. 95% of the time women run a 5k, but there some odd races on occasion that will be like 3.5 miles. The training I found to be almost the same as in high school (but I was training with the guys varsity team in high school) so I would assume that if you were training with the girls your training in college will be a little more difficult in college than high school.

    I was running low 20's in the 5k and I was coming in the top 10 every race. The people that were ahead of me were really far ahead of me though, they ran mainly 18's. I hope this helps, good luck
