  1. I live in Greensboro, which is surprisingly diverse. We have a lot of immigrants and visitors, and we have many colleges in the area. It is a boring town, but low cost of living.

In NC, there are basically 3 parts. Mountains are in the west--this is kind of hillbillyish land. the Piedmont, where I live, is in the middle and is the most boring part. To the east is the coast, which has the advantage of the ocean and the disadvantage of being more expensive.

The weather is fairly warm and the winters are usually mild. Recently we've been having very little rain; last summer we had drought conditions.

In general, I like NC and it is good to visit or to live (depending on where you go).

  2. It is a very nice place to visit and I lived there until my 26th birthday.  I was quite glad to leave and emigrate to the UK though.  Its always nice to visit but wouldn't want to go back and live there full time.

It really depends on where.  I wouldn't recommend Charlotte area but the western, eastern, and piedmont triad are very nice places with lots to do.

  3. We were staioned at Fort Bragg, awful place to be, nice woods, hot, humid, beach not too far away, lots of snakes in the woods, I liked it but for the high humidity which is everywhere in the east and south. Now let me tell you, California, near the beach, OMG, to die for.

  4. By the beach its stunningly beautiful. Kind of humid though, but there's a lot of small towns along the beach that are gorgeous.

Hilton Head is my favorite. =)

  5. ashville and the blue ridge mountains  are beautiful  hot and humid in july and august

  6. depends on where you're from & what part you wanna qo to .

  7. NC is very diverse.  We have the mountains and the coast.  We have small towns and large towns and plenty of university towns.  The cost of living is reasonable. There is a variety in industries and jobs. We also have four distinct seasons.

If you are looking for cooler weather, snow and skiing in winter, then the western part would be your choice.   The coast of NC is lined with beaches, most cater to families, and are great for swimming and other water activities.  In the piedmont we have lakes, golf courses, parks, museums, ....just about anything you're interested in.

In the middle of the state you are just a few hours away from either the coast or mountains.

It would be difficult to visit all of NC at one time.  There is so much diversity you will need to choose what you are most interested in.  Check out these web sites.
