  1. Yeah...I'm originally from St. Louis as well.  I still live in a small Missouri town close to the Arkansas border.  I really don't have much information regarding Columbia.  I was there a couple of times when I was a kid.  I know it's a college town and it certainly stays out of the local news so I'm assuming the crime statistics are relatively low.  I have googled other cities that I wanted more information on.  Try googling:  Columbia Missouri population.  That should pull up sites that should give you all types of statistical information.  This includes housing I believe.  Good luck.

  2. I love Columbia MO it is a great town in a wonderful location.  Mizzo is located there so for the most part is a small college city.  The job market there is pretty good however it can be hard to find a job in the fall when all the college kids come back to school. There are plenty of family activities in the area and of course they have places like Wal-Mart, Target and a large mall.  The schools in this area are just wonderful, and for the most part Columbia MO is very low on crime.  There are plenty of wonderful restaurants to eat at and a really good winery in the area that is a great place to spend the day.  For weekend trips it is located half way to KC and STL which are great places to spend time in.  There is also Springfield MO which is pretty close and they have plenty of stuff for all ages to do.  There are plenty of wonderful parks in Columbia.  I think that you would really like it if you move there.  People are so nice and the community does hold a lot of events and festivals.  The cost of living is low compared with the rest of the country and you will get a lot of house for your money.  If you are looking at renting an apartment there are plenty in the area that are nice and rent is really cheap.  Before you move I would request my FREE location packet from the Chamber of Commerce it will have everything you need in there to make your move go smooth.  Good luck I hope this helps!
