  1. The weather is similar to Seattle Wash.  It's cold fall, winter, and spring.  And the summer temps almost never get above 80 and it rains almost constantly.  The streets are dirty and people are generally known for being rude (think New York).  But that's in any large city.  On the other hand it's a fashion, art, and beauty mecca.  So if you wanted good weather I would look elsewhere, but if it is culture you are looking for then there is no more ideal place than Paris.

  2. Yes, Paris is as romantic a city as there is anywhere.

Mind you, although I've cumulatively spent a lot of time there I've never really lived there. I suspect that  as someone staying in a hotel or a rented apartment I've probably escaped all the hassles and difficulties that a genuine resident has to deal with.

Still, the architecture, the cafes, the evidence of a long history, the constant presence of great art and culture, and the realization that you are walking in the footsteps of people like Hemingway, Jame Joyce, and F. Scott FitzGerald create a special mood.

  3. I am not sure a bout Paris but I went to Bolougne-Sur-Mer(not sure if that is spelt right) for a day trip with my partner and our two friends. We went round the shops and had lunch then went up to the old town to look at the christmas markets, the whole town had a really romantic feel to it. It was freezing cold, the sun was out, but everyone was happy and cheerful. we had a lovely meal in a small pub, and a few drinks. when we were getting ready to come back, all the street lights were on and it was really lovely. There was a huge firework display, which lasted ages. People are so much more relaxed, some people we were speaking to were on thier lunch breaks and they had a few glasses of wine with thier lunch, would not get away with it in England. The town had a really good feel and vibe to it. I would consider living there full time. The only thing I did not like was there is no smoking ban in place over there and it is not very nice whwile you are eating to have people somking around you.
