What's it look and feel like in a tornado?

I heard some people say there's a white bright light in a tornado. Is that the super cell? Sources?

  1. To be honest no one has actually ever seen the inside of a tornado, there have been occasions where cars and unmanned probes have intercepted tornadoes but so far no one has seen right up into the tornado.


  2. The movie Twister seemed to have the answer near the end of the movie when those two storm chasers strapped themselves into something and looked up.

  3. You don't want to know first hand. I saw one 1/2 mi away.

    The cloud is inky black [tall] with clear sky beyond. There is a heavy fall of ice falling at high speed, then cumulus mammatus (b*****s) hang from the cloud base, and one or more extend into the funnel that may reach the ground. It sounds very deep in pitch like a giant vacuum cleaner.
