What's it mean when a guy says "wassup girl?"?

I was just wondering what that means. or how they mean it. cause i was a work and a coworker said this. did he just forget my name or what? so he just said "girl" instead of my name? lol i feel embarassed when people dont remember my name >.<

or is it just a normal friendly thing for a guy to say? help!
