I'm 15 and have aspirations of being an actor, and I was wondering what do kids in all these teen and younger movie do to get discovered when they had never been in anything before? I live in Pennsylvania, does location have anything to do with it. I have recently learned that a new studio is being built in Philly, I live like an hour away, and I heard the "Last Airbender" movie is being partially filmed there. I thought it would be cool to try out, where would I get info?

  1. well, acting takes a lot of hard work and dedication, its a lot harder then it looks. Most people want to be actors for the fame and fortune, some want to be actors simply because it's what they love to do. But back to your question.

Location has a lot to do with it when your young, if you come from a small town it Iowa it's definately hard, but your near Philly which is a city, so it shouldnt be too hard. Just take some classes, do as much theatre as you can, find an agent, get some headshots and have a lot of patience!

  2. Try your local film commission. They will know exactly when the movie will be filming and they also should have information about any other films that will be coming your way.

You could maybe get some extra work, but ultimately if you want to really get serious about acting, you will need to start taking some classes and training hard. That will increase your chances of getting some speaking roles.

    Good luck!
