What's like Photoshop?

Question

I need to get an application (within budget) that's like Photoshop

I want to be able to make things like pictures captions (like on Mypsace)

BTW: Gimp confuses me, so yeah.... lol

idk if that lesser version of Photoshop works, because the trial version didn't work for me.

and I can't d/l Photoshop, b/c I already did and the trial ran out =/

GIMP is free, so I don't know where you're getting the trial. Maybe you downloaded the wrong files, as in you might have downloaded the files needed for linux.

There is this program called Paint.NET, and it's not as powerful, but still fairly advanced. And it's free.

Photoshop Elements is the cheaper version which cuts out certain things that the average consumer would not use, yet retaining the most commonly used features of Photoshop. I think it's $149, but I'm not sure.

Paint.net is free and decent, but definitely not photoshop or GIMP.

If you don't like the Gimp's interface, try Gimpshop!  It's designed to make the Gimp more like Photoshop.

Try giving GIMP another crack using the Official Online Tutorials http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/ they are very thorough. Gimp for Windows can be downloaded from here http://www.gimp.org/windows/

I personally use Photofiltre. There's a free version on the site. Although it's not the newest version, it works perfectly fine.
