Question:

What's like a Honda CB650?

I had a Honda CB650 in college and am looking for a newer bike. I was wondering what bikes are on the market, now or a few years old, that have the same feel, response, and keep a typical street bike look.

Since college, I've gained a few pounds and would like a bit more horsepower.

  1. What you are looking for is a standard.

I believe the name Bill is searching for is Honda Nighthawk. Honda stopped producing them in 2003, but I have seen quite a few on e-bay. You should be able to get a newer one for less than $3000.

  2. um i think this one will be really good for you, a little more power as well

    Honda shadow aero 750 cc

    look it up

  3. Look for a used honda 750  4 cylinder. I forget the name but they were like oatmeal and ran well. You should find one with less than 15K miles and less than 3500$. Or look at a new Suzuki SV650. Excellent bike. Have fun

  4. I actually had a CB650 as my first bike...it was an 81 I believe.

YOu aren't really going to find anything newer with that type of style, Much the same as cars have evolved so have Motorcycles, they all pretty much got more aerodynamic.

HOWEVER, as far as traditional styling goes...the Suzuki SV650 is sort of like an 08 version of that traditional CB650.. and yeah...the 650's of today have quite a bit more power than the 650's of yester year. Its a very nice looking bike, and comes in just under $6000.00 so its pretty easy on the wallet as well. And its a V-twin so it gets pretty decent Gas Milage. You can pick up an 08 for under 6, and you can find them a little used for under 5000... closer to 4 actually. You could also go a couple years back and find a Bandit...which is a traditional style bike.

Or like someone else suggested...you could try to find a NightHawk 750 used...you can grab them pretty cheap.

But honestly, If I were going to buy a "Standard" bike...Id get a Shadow Spirit, under 6500 brand new...VERY comfortable and dependable bike.

I am not ready to give up my rocket yet...but if I was Id get a Spirit, my brother has an 02, and everytime he leaves it sitting in my driveway I sneak off with it... I just love the way it rides.
