Question:

What's making the small creaking sound in the back right of my car?

I have a fairly new Hyundai Elantra (2007) that makes a small creaking sound in the back right every time I make a full stop. It's only on the right side and the noise is very quiet but consistent. It sounds like something isn't oiled or maybe a spring that's dry.

It's probably nothing but I'm about to make a long trip very soon and I can't get it checked because my dealership didn't have any immediate openings.... so I was wondering if I'd be safe driving it for about 1000 miles, or if anyone knows what the cause of the noise could be. Thanks!

  1. you say it only happens when you stop? have the brakes checked on that side, it might be only brake dust.
