What's malta like christmas week!?

me and my simple friend (the big chaud) have booked holiday in malta, the (grand excelsior) over xmas week. what is malta like and will we be able to visit the tourist sites or does malta "close down" over the holiday period. any advice greatly received. ps whats the weather like!

According to the visitmalta website: "There is plenty to do during the holiday season in Malta. In addition to streetlights and Christmas trees, the holiday is very much a religious festivity. You'll find nativity scenes, displays of cribs, carol services and other events. The most popular outing is the annual pantomime held at the Manoel Theatre in Valletta, a happy mix of slapstick good humor for children and satire for adults." There are also harbor boat trips, Valetta, Mdina, Gozo etc.
