  2. The minimum wage in Florida is currently $6.79 per hour. This changes every January when a new rate is calculated based upon inflation. I do a lot of payroll, including some McDonald's. If you're still in school, they probably pay $6.80 or $6.90. Sometimes they'll pay $7.00. If you're out of school, they probably start you at $7.00 or $7.25.

    You could make more at a popular regular restaurant, like Applebee's or Red Lobster, when you include the excess tips.
