  1. both just that volleyball can increase the chances of tearing your ACL.(sucks)

  2. volleyball definitely

  3. Running is more dangoures because you could trip and hurt yourself badly. Vollyball only hurts you wrists for the first coupl weeks.

  4. i would say both sport can be dangerous.

in running, u can pull a muscle badly and get urself hurt, or do sth stupid and get badly injured..

in volleyball, you can get hit in the face with the ball, espcially in hs level sports, there is a big chance, and most likely u would get a ball in ur face and it hurts like a *****, believe me, it happend to me plenty of time.

but u know what, volleyball is a really fun game, and believe me u will have fun playing it if u are into it. to preven urself from getting ball in ur face, u need to concentrate, watch and react fast. also., stretch well so u dont get cramps coz cramps hurts alot, believe me. been there, done that.

so now, U chose, which one is more dangerous?

id still say volleyball, but with sports, u can get hurt all kinda of way.

  5. i play volleyball and run track... i've been doing them both for a long time and I've gotten hurt doing both... each sport has a set of injuries that are pretty common

    in volleyball I've:

    sprained my foot

    hurt my ankle

    injured my back

pulled a muscle in my hitting arm

    injured my knees

    several bruises

    in track Ive:

    injured my back

    hurt my ankle

    gotten shin splints

    injured my knees

    pulled a groin muscle

injured other muscles (but i could still run on them)

wow ive gotten hurt more than i thought.... but all in all it really isn't as bad as it seems

in any sport you are gonna encounter injuries... you should just do what you enjoy

  6. VOLLEYBALL

  7. Neither are dangerous in theory. A volleyball will not break your nose. At lower levels, people don't hit the ball hard. At higher levels, your reflexes improve enough that you can at least turn your head.

    In Volleyball:

You cannot get hit by a car

You do not have to wear reflective gear when playing near dusk or at night.

You can meet people and play as opposed to running solo all the time.

    In Running:

You don't need anyone else to "make a game of it."

You don't need a ball or a net.

You can build up endurance and stamina that can be used in Volleyball, later.

Ask your dad, in a nice way, when he plans to let you decide the course of your interests? Now, late-teens, adulthood, never?

I think having a parent who lives vicariously through you and makes your decisions for you, as opposed to letting you choose your own way in life, is the most dangerous sport of all.

Granted there may be other reasons your father has told you to do running. Maybe monetary issues are the big one. You only need a pair of shoes to run, while volleyball can be an expensive sport for parents as the years go on. Parents don't always need to give reasons, there may be something in it that they know about that you don't.

Here's a novel idea too, How about both?

  8. All sports can be "dangerous", if you don't play them right. Running can be very dangerous, if you run too hard and for too long you could pass out.

Same with volleyball or any other sport (maybe not golf, but thats boring =P). Volleyball is very fun and I don't think it is dangerous at all. As long as you drink a lot of water and wear knee pads so when you dive you dont hurt your knees, its a great sport!

  9. Neither are very dangerous at all. In volleyball, you can hurt your fingers (blocking), your ankles (hitting/blocking), your back (too much serving/hitting), or your rotator cuf from hitting.

For runing, you can injure lots of muscles. Ankles, knees, back... Dehidration and heatstroke are a danger I guess.

However, I ran cross country for 2 years, and played volleyball for 6 years, and I had no serious injuries.

Both are about as safe as sports get. You are probably more likely to get seriously hurt driving a car than playing volleyball.

  10. Volleyball is the most dangerous, because you have to spike (hard hit) your legs and ankles are in funny positions which hurt and you have to bump it and if you don't have TONS of muscle on your arm it hurts.

Running is the least Dangerous, because the only way to get hurt is to trip or have someone push you(yes it does happen, someone pushed one of our runners in the relay when we were in first and 100 meters away from the finish line and she   ended up having a swished ankle, plus we lost that race. )

  11. I personally don't think of either as a dangerous sport!  In either you could get hurt if you're not careful.  If you know what you pay attention & do each sport properly, you shouldn't get hurt in either.

Sounds like your dad may be worried his little girl is growing up.

  12. depends, running can be dangerous if your doing hurdles.

volleyball isn't that dangerous. only hard core players get hurt mostly

  13. neither of those sports are very dangerous..  I suppose you could get a broken nose playing volleyball if someone spikes the ball in your face..  but I'd say that's pretty unlikely to happen..  running could be more dangerous if you're running on the road or if you have to cross busy streets a lot..

  14. don't worry "nothing is dangerous".

what you do as a sports or  an exersise.

both the things are usefull to you go for both.

    but make mastery in one.

    best of luck for you.
