Well after the embarrassment they called a race at the Brickyard yesterday and a fan of all racing, Which was worse the 2005 US GP or the 2008 Brickyard 400? Would love to hear some opinions on this. If you recall at Indy in 2005 6 cars raced of the 20 entered thanks to the tire manufacture Michelin deeming their tires not safe to race on. Yesterday Goodyear didn't have a tire that would last 30 laps. That led to 6 competition yellow flag periods.

  1. The longest stretch of green flag racing? 12 laps. Count 'em. 12.

  2. I didn't see the race yesterday because I was at work but from what I heard I probably don't want to see the playback on Thursday on SPEED.

  3. Considering I actually watched a race yesterday with all the competitors and NASCAR tried to deal with the situation as best they could it wasn't even close to the US GP debacle(not even same zip code).  In fact I'm already over yesterday.   I'm ready for Pocono and the tri oval.   I don't think you'll ever see NASCAR drivers psych out the fans by pulling up to the grid then in to the pits  in protest.  That was just completely pussified and Im an F1 fan.

  4. I'd call it a tie breaker.

Dam shame for the fans that PAID BIG $$$$$ to see a RACE live.

I was home watching it on TV and fell asleep 3 times, now that's bad.....

  5. Yesterday was far more embarrassing.  Its not even close.  F1 actually had a race.  Those teams chose not to participate.  They could run around and slowed down through the final turn.  They could have come down pit road. Anything, but they could have raced.  They thought if they threatened to not race that F1 would do something lame like add a chicane or not count the race towards the championship.  F1 did the right thing and said, hey, we're having the race with or without you.  I became a bigger fan of F1 that day.  F1 is about sport and Nascar is about entertainment.  And by the way, I love them both.  But yesterday was just lame.

  6. I agree with the emperor.  Both are bad.  Yesterdays was better because I have the luxury of DVR recording the race then watching it.  Therefore, I did a lot of fast forwarding and was not caught up in all the BS.

  7. I'd say the 05 US GP.  Not being biased, but at least NASCAR tried to put the race on.

  8. Considering it only had a six car field, the 05 US GP hands down. The sanctioning body was too stubborn to not allow Mich to bring another tire compound to the track...or even allow a simple fix as opening a chicane in (F1) turn 4 to slow the cars down.

  9. both are equally as bad....but i would've expected better from Goodyear...aka gayyear

  10. I would say the 2008 Brickyard race was worse then the 2005 USGP.

At least the F1 cars were racing unlike yesterday's race at Indy with 11 cautions and a winning speed of 115 MPH, just fast enough to beat the 1937 Indy 500 winner.

  11. the F1 race for sure. the difference is the drivers and teams didn't act like a bunch of p*ssies yesterday like the F1 drivers did in 05, when they refused to race. the NASCAR drivers bucked up like men and put on the best show they were capable of under the circumstances

note to joe gibbs driven: you don't have to look very far down the standinds to find out how he's doing loser, he's second in points. if he's a joke, what does that say about the 40 some drivers behind him?

  12. Speaking of jokes, how is Dale Jr doing?
