you just cannot love someone, if she/he doesn't love you back. it's a pity!

If you could only have one or the other, though, I'd say it depends on what your personality is..  If you're more caring than you are needy, then "to love" would benefit you more..

I think to be loved. This gives you self esteem and self worth and then enables you to love. You can love someone without them returning it and it hurts like h**l so I would say to be loved is more important.
