  1. Each can complement the other.  In negating an idea or action of an individual we can affirm their worth as a person.  My own memory of an affirmation that really helped me at a critical time for me, came from criticism that gave me a push in the right direction and greater confidence in myself.

  2. Both are required. Affirmation of good thoughts, deeds, society faith etc and negation of bad thoughts, deeds, society, beliefs, cruel rituals etc.

  3. Believe nothing just because a so-called wise person said it.

Believe nothing just because a belief is generally held.

Believe nothing just because it is said in ancient books.

Believe nothing just because it is said to be of divine origin.

Believe nothing just because someone else believes it.

Believe only what you yourself test and judge to be true

Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood.

  4. A well fed horse can pull better than a whipped one.

How many people do you know who beat themselves up over every mistake? And would you rather live their lives, or the lives of confident people?

  5. I think affirmation closes the door for any further progress on the subject you are affirming. Negation, just elliminates any unneeded further energy. But I would assume you need to affirm the negation, huh? I still say negation is more beneficial in the end.

  6. It all depends on what or whom one wishes to negate or affirm.

I can think of how the world would be improved by a number of individuals and groups being negated and others affirmed.
