What's my boss saying? Some Italian/Neapolitan swear word, I think. ?

heehee So.. I hear his brother, Sal (my other boss XD), saying "minchia" all the time and I know what that means. But Joe (boss in question) says something like,"minia" or "miña." I don't know if it's the same thing and he just says it differently or what. He's silly so maybe he just deforms words to his liking. :3 But his sister-in-law has actually said,"He's hard to understand when he talks." I said,"haha Even in Italian?" She said yes, so... I don't know. I know they're from completely different regions of Italy, but her husband is from the same place as Joe, so...what the heck?

Anyway, I'm not sure how strong of a swear word it is. Sal says his "minchia" when he's pretty annoyed. Joe, on the other hand, has said his, "miña" pretty calmly before. And once he was being nosy and looking over my shoulder when I was putting a credit card tip in the register and he said,"Miña! That's a nice tip." So there's an example. :D Any help?

  1. Minchia is p***s is Italian and Sicilian.

He could be saying niña - girl or nimia - insignificant. (although both of them are Spanish)

  2. "minchia" is a vulgar term, meaning p-r-i-c-k.  No idea what the minia might be.

  3. I think they say the same word, "minchia". It's not proper Italian, but Sicilian (but everyone in Italy understand it). You know the litteral meaning of this word... but it can be used when you are surprised or sometimes when you're angry...
