Commuting to work and spending alot of fun time

in the mountains. I'm not too crazy about giant vehicles. The more efficient the better...but I dont want to be lacking in power when it comes to driving in the mountains.

  1. GMC ENVOY

  2. Mountain bike

  3. Toyota Yaris, Corolla, Rav 4, Tacoma, Honda Civic, Element, Suzuki Rio, SX4, Subaru any, used vehicle would be the smart choice.

  4. Subaru's and cross over all wheel drives are quite popular.

The Honda, and Toyota  small "suv"s are also fairly popular.

Full sized suv's are pretty cheap used, people are trying to get rid of them.

It depends a lot on the roads you will be traveling, loads being carried and the distances you will be going.

Ford sport track and ranger truck are popular.

  5. Toyota RAV4 with a V6.

  6. ford explorer

    or

    chevy blazer

both work well in that area

  7. You are smart to avoid large SUVs because they are boring to drive and use too much gas.

I live in Denver and drive to the mountains to ski almost every weekend. I drive an Infiniti G35x and love it. It's an all wheel drive sedan that's extremely fast and powerful. It handles great in the snow and it's also extremely fun to drive in dry/city conditions too. The only catch is that the retail new is about $33K and the gas mileage isn't great.

If you don't want something that spendy, check out cars from Subaru. All Subarus have standard all wheel drive making them handle great in snow. The Outbacks are very popular here in CO but I personally think they're ugly and boring to drive. The Legacy is a nice sedan and basically a toned down, cheaper version of a G35. The Imprezas are cool too if you want a smaller car.

    Hope that helps.
