Okay, so I've been playing tennis recently and well i suck at it and I think my coach think so too because he said that I'm one of the slowest people on the team, but i think he really meant the slowest. =(

Now i have flat feet and well its harder for me to run too. When we sprint against one another i always come in last. I don't know how to run in other words i guess. I run heel-toe i think, is that right?

Oh and after we run around the courts 9 times, my calves are killing me like crazy. What am I doing wrong?

Is volleyball a better sport for flat feeted people?

Thank You for those who answered! =)

  1. OK first of all you need to run on your toes try to stay on your toes when your running. and your calvs are hurting because of the exercise your doing its nothing bad it could also be due because of the type of shoes your wearing.... In volleyball you don't really have to run alot because your playing with a team and in tennis its all about you and you have to play every ball. If you like the exercise and you like being independent and in charge of your success then stick to tennis. It takes time to be good at any sport just stick to it and practice hard you will get better.

  2. You should run on your toes. That may help. You could always try jogging at home and workout more. You may find that it will help you. If that does not work, you could try a different sport. The problem would be that most sports involve running, and lots of it. You could try golf. That could be a boring sport though. Just think about if playing tennis is worth it. If it isn't try something new.

  3. wow i have flat feet and everyone tells me that too. I used to play tennis and every time i try to hit the ball i came too late and i hit it in a strange direction. I also really hate running. My calves end up so swore. I don't know so much about volleyball because i haven't played it so much but i think swimming is a great sport for flat feet people. In canada i have my bronze cross and i can work and it has great pay. You use a lot of your muscles in swimming and it requires a lot of stamina. You shouldn't quit tennis though. You should keep at tennis and also try swimming at the same time. Maybe if you swim your tennis might improve because you could get more stamina or leg muscles which might make up for your flat feet in running. I thought that swimming greatly improved my performance in hockey and it's great.

  4. Change sports. If you don't like tennis then it isn't for you. It's very simple. Pick somehting you have natural talent for.
