  1. First the the animals have to be treated and I strongly recommend Frontline. It's not toxic and works so good we never have had problems since. Then go to a restaurant supply store (like Smart n Final) and buy enough popcorn salt to cover all your carpets. Sprinkle all through the carpets and leave on 2 weeks. Vacuum, then repeat (this is in case eggs hatch). You will be flea free. If you have everyone stomp on the carpet the salt gets way in there to the pad and you wont even see it, you can also use a broom and beat it in. This is the best and safest solution and I guarantee it works great!~~

  2. Make a teeny weeny circus catch them and to put them in it.

  3. My mom use to use borax acid you can find it in the laundry aisle, also fleas do not like eucalyptus.

  4. The most efficient way is to use chemical sprays but as you are against this you are going to find them extremely difficult to get rid of. There is a lamp available that is a trap. It has sticky card in the base that entraps them. The heat from the lamp is to fool the flea into thinking that it is an animal or human nearby so it will jump in to feed. One other alternative is a flea smoke bomb. When you light this you have to leave the premises till its burned out. This is what councils do to get rid of infestations in it's houses. You can buy these in hardware stores, some DIY stores or on the net.You will have to repeat the treatment to kill off newly hatched young. The council will do it for you even if you don't live in one of their houses but they will charge you for their services. Best of luck.

  5. The first line of defense is treat an old pair of long bermuda stockings with contact cement spray, and walk around. The fleas will jump aboard with glee. I hope you have a few pair available for repeat walks.

II haven't done this personally but simulated legs [posts] could be treated with Tanglefoot, which is generally applied to tree trunks to catch insects. Fleas have the habit of jumping on legs, yours, your pet, etc.

  6. If its bad, you'll have to go with chemicals.

Throughly vacuum and eliminate all dust and clutter.

There are traps you can buy that have a light over a kind of flypaper.  You can accomplish the same thing with a desk lamp over a pan of soapy water.

The fleas go for the warmth of light and fall into the pan.  The soap film on the water prevents them from escaping.

  7. get rid of the pets.
