What's next for Roy Jones jr?

his win over trinidad was pretty impressive and showed that at nearly 40 he can still come in in good shape and compete at a high level, albeit nowhere near the way he used to fight.

since then he has priced his way ot of the calzaghe fight that i personally dont believe he deserved to begin with, and now shows no intentions to make a challenge. there's plenty of titles out there that he could still go after and have a decent chance of winning....namely antonio tarver, who's lackluster performances recently show me that he id definately beatable.

the fight i wanted to see was a matchup with Chris Byrd, but i was unpleasantly surprised to seel byrd knocked out by a journeyman in his 175 debut.

what will we see Roy do next? go for a payday against hopkins perhaps? try to get a title? maybe even move back up to heavy and take the rachman-toney winner? he's running out of options and he's too high priced to be fighting at light heavy these days........

  1. he's gonna be a rapper. the song he was in with mike jones (knockin nigg*s out) wasn't to bad

  2. He needs to call it a career. Anything else will tarnish his legacy. What else does he have to, or even can prove anymore. All he can do is disprove.

  3. Hopefully retirement.

I've been excited with all the "legends" falling lately.

Hopkins losing to Calzaghe, Taylor losing to Pavlik.

It's good to see all the oldies gettin weeded out and seeing the potential stars rising.  Boxing, except for the HW division, is about to get exciting.  Changing of the guard. The next 5 years will be great for the boxing fan.

I'm a big Paul Williams fan.  It's time for these new guys to come up.

I'm excited to see the 2008 Olympic boxing competitions.
