White America has already attack hip hop and the black church. What's next? Outside looking in I could understand why people like Bill Reilly are coming from, but they make no attempt to answers the question why people act the way they do. They automatically think their views are right. For example, most people who are raised in the black community have no problem with the word *****.

  1. I think its a function of perception.  For example, you are grouping all people of European descent living in america in one group.  I think O'Reilly is a moron.  I have no qualms with any church, though I do not choose to attend any either.  hip hop to me is fine, in limited doses.  Rap, however, I find to be as bad as country music- which is to say, I wouldn't mind it if I never had to listen to it, or hear about its existence again.

And its human nature to think your views are right, automatically.  If you thought your views were wrong, would you not change them to be right?  You think your views are right, as do I with mine. I think there is nothing wrong with N****r, in and of itself.  Its the context in which the word is used.  We don't mind when Richard Prior or Eddie Murphy use it, because we know they aren't racist.  Its the racist a** which we ought to be concerned about.

In terms of the media, its far better for ratings to pose questions and not solutions, for questions are easy- solutions are hard.  You yourself posed a question, but not a solution.  But so long as people pay attention to people like OReilly, he'll be on the air.  If you stop paying attention, then he'll lose his power.
