It's the egg. Lizards lay eggs, and Dinosaurs did too. There were plenty of eggs before the chicken. And the first ever chicken hatched from a egg laid by an animal that belonged to a different species.

Actually, the chicken developed from another species that gave birth and not lay eggs. Then somehow, the genetics changed, (evolution), and it started laying eggs.

Lol. Chicken is older. Hens lay eggs, roosters don't, chickens hatch out from eggs and turn into hens/roosters. therefore, chickens come after eggs
