I'm thinking about going to school in Russia. The language isn't really a problem for me, but do you have to speak up a lot there? Anyway, tell me everything you know about school in Russia (more specifically 10th grade).

  1. School is really hard over there, thats why a lot of ppl from different countries come to American colleges since there so easy for them lol, Americans aren't smarter then Russians

  2. I was in 10th grade in 1999, so may be some changes happened.

The subjects in 10th grade are maths (algebra and geometry), informatics, physics, chemistry - here you almost don't talk, solve problems, write tests.

Geography, biology, history  - you should answer questions that the teacher asked to answer as home work - orally or in wriiten.

Russian language, literature, foreign language - here's a lot of writing (dictations, tests, compositions) and speaking (in literature - analyzing poems and works of literature, telling about biographies of authors etc., in foreign language - making up dialogues).

Physical training - not speaking, but training:)

Basics of life safety - something like that - only writing and sometimes answering questions.

In general you only speak when a teacher allows or points at you to answer. Usually it's a teacher who's speaking and students are writing after lectures or listening.

  3. Its very hard
