Hey, so ppl like to romanticize about life i the country, and well, I'd like to hear soem of your opinions on that. I have to write an article-type thingy, and its pretty much talking about how wonderful this small village (of 400 ppl) is. And, though i have some good material for it, I was wondering what ppl outside of a small village think about it as well? thanks

  1. NOTHING, SMALL TOWNS SUCK ***

  2. the benefits of living in a small village is you would probably feel more protected because everyone knows each other, and sticks together. Its convenient [since everyone knows each other]-- it shouldn't be a problem borrowing stuff from your neighbor if you ran out of stuff.. and also, have you ever head of the quote "it takes a village to raise a child"-- well living in a small village contributes to the growth of your child being that everyone knows each other, every one takes part of the development of your child.. its way better than the fast life of city life-- my opinion

  3. Well i moved to a village a few months back and i found it very difficult at first because everybody knew eachother and your kind of the outsider.......a few months on, im really liking it, its quieter and Greener which is nice, just a nicer way of life then a place full of buildings ,noise and yobs.

It can still feel isolated though. Mixed views to be honest but still more good points about living where i do now.

  4. I was raised being dragged from one small town to another. My family was highly dysfunctional and abusive. I think they liked the country life because there were fewer people to hear the screams. Small town people mostly ignore and reject outsiders, so there was never any chance of getting help. Give me the city life, please.

  5. You know everybody, and everybody knows you.  It's like a big family.  The good side of that is someone will always be willing to help you or listen to you.  The bad side is that everybody knows where your warts are, and you can't do anything without someone knowing about it.

I've lived in big cities, small villages, and curently live out in the sticks near a small town.  I like country living best.

  6. In small villages, people say "hello" to each other, and they don't ignore people who have a heart attack in the street.

  7. I'm sorry, I don't live outside of a small village. I live in a small village. But I'd still like to help you if you don't mind. The reason why is because there is something I've been so happy about that could never be if I would live in the big city. And that's safety. I don't have to lock the door if I go out just for a little while. I can take a walk in the middle of the night if I want to without having to worry about rapists or anything like that. And even if something would happen to me I could just run to the nearest house and explain my problem and I won't even be a stranger to them. They would help me for sure.
