Some people refill them to reuse. It saves money as its costs less than a brand new cartridge also recycling protects environment.

I had no idea local pet shelters accepted them. I do know that Office Max gives you a 3 dollar discount on a new print cartridge and you can use up to six per transaction.  That's like getting a new print cartridge for free!  They even accept Dell cartridges now!!

They help our enviroment! They can be re-filled & re-used. Empty ones can be turned into your local pet shelter, where in turn they can receive cash to aid in the cost of caring for homeless animals. Recycle them to your local pet shelter today!

Some are re useable! And when you take the old one to the store they will give u a new one. But only a few places do that!

they take 1000 years to degrade in a landfill so we have to recycle them.  we recycle them either by taking your used cartridges, clean and refill them and sell them back to consumers as remanufactured cartridge or we just ship them to other countries for them to recycle or incinerate them.

Reuse them again?  I have no clue really.

I never did it and I don't get it.

I think there might be little wires in side or something that make it work.  Or a little chip.  So I think they try and get them back to put it into another one.  So it is safer for the environment.

Having worked for a cartridge company called Laser Cartridge Services in Pickering ON, and all we did was recycle / re-manufacture cartridges.

When it comes down to it laser carts are extremely simple. During my 8 months there I probably had over 400, 000 carts pass through my hands and some carts more than once.

Yes you can make money returning empty carts, but its only worth it when you bring back 10+
