I'm on a cross country running team in the fall and right now its summer. Last year i barely trained before cross country started and this year I would like to be a little better and for it to be not quite as difficult. Except I really need some motivation to get out there every day. Does anyone have any advice?

  2. winning, getting ready, the more you do know the less hard it will be, impress people, make people jelous of you, get or stay in shape, running is a good work out it really benefits your health hope i helped =]

  3. Fundamentally, it's all about your mindset. The BIG reasons why do you want to do that!

Being looking nice, good, slim, is not the BIG WHY. Rather, should continue questioning yourself, why do you want to look good, or slim or...

For me, I had been waking up everyday at 5:30am to take breeze walk with my wife for past 1 year. (Yes, 5;30am each day for > 1 year)

The simple reason is that I want to outlive my wife. I know my wife is not as strong in term of emotion as I am. So, I know she will be devastating if I die before her. So, one way to ensure I have good health, is to exercise regularly and eat healthily.

Next, one other important factor is to do it with a partner (Not necessary your spouse), but a exercise (for your case is work out) mate. Your partner will encourage you to be there as there is a committment by both (or more) party to work out together.

When I started initially, many times, I did not feel like waking up early and take that "walk", But when I thought about my wife, is up and waiting for me, I jump off my bed and went out with her.

Of course, there is also another factor is that there is the only time i have my private session with her. (other time, we will be overwhelming with our kids and leave us no room for each others)

    In summary:

    1. Find the "REAL BIG REASON" why do you need to work out. (It's ok, if your answer is to catch more turn-head or eyeing...) but continue to ask until you find the "READ BIG REASON"

    2. Find a Work out mate to do it together!

  4. Give yourself a reward after each GOOD run and remember this and convince yourself. ' I'm already started so I have to finish either way. I only feel pain because I need to work harder. ' Just basically treat the pain as if it is an Ice cream cone. Devoure it!

    Actually, just Ignore it!

  5. My motivations:

    1. Winning or even just doing well in my age/gender group in local races.

    2. Believeing that I am adding years of good living to my life.

    3. Looking good! People tell me that I've got a  nice butt and   trim legs!

    4. Guilt free ice cream!

  6. Umm... Yeah... Dude... get an iPod or MP3 or handphone... choose or download ur music... listen and run... Or... what sport do you like to play... Let's say soccer... ok.... Tell your friends that you guys create a team and play in a league or something... now for that u need to go to practice everyday.... For your passion for soccer ( or any sport u like to play ).... you walk or jog to the place where u practice...... You wouldn't even realize... I do that everyday!!

  7. Definitely some music!
