What's stopping China from simply populating Taiwan and using it as a puppet?

haha, well theoretically it would work wouldn't it? They have 1.3 billion people, Taiwan has 20 million. If you could get a group of loyal Chinese nationalists to gradually populate Taiwan, gain citizenship, then vote in a radically pro-china political party, the Chinese could do what they like, couldn't they?

China considers Taiwan as being a rogue state of China. They don't have to "invade" a part of China, it is already part of China. They consider it like the USA "invading", say, California or Florida or Kansas. There is no point, its already a part of everything else.
