What's taught at a technical vocational school?

i know there are different things taught...but what's the most popular?

  1. It really depends... Gender usually plays a limited part. Girls were predominant in health occupations, guys were in shops like Industrial Electric, Auto Mechanics, and Carpentry. Equal were in business occupations, computers, drafting, commercial art...

    As far as what's the most popular shop, there really wasn't one... My freshman year, we had "exploratory" shops, where we had 20 days in different shop classes to help us figure out what shop we would "major" in. You took what you were interested in, but almost any blue-collar shop was popular. For those where you were required to have your own license (plumbing, electric, HVAC, carpentry, etc.) the fact you attended a Vo-tech HS took off a year and a half from the licensing requirement, so instead of working as an apprentice for 5 yrs, you only had to do 3 1/2.
