  1. If your instructor is really teaching you to pin like that, you need to find a new school because that is NOT a judo pin and I would easily destroy anyone who tried to hold me like that.


  2. Well, I'm not sure if that's a proper Judo pin, and from what you're describing, you're basically giving up your back for a easy crucifix or with a bit of a scramble, rear mount.

    The only way for what you're describing to work properly is if you hook over the head, not the arm, and even then, that's not the best spot to be in. Only way for that to work is if the guy on top managed to bridge and put all of his weight on the guy on bottom, and the guy on bottom had no grasp on newaza techniques.

    Maybe you saw the technique wrong- maybe you saw a reverse scarf hold (ushiro kesa gatame), or possibly you mistook side mount (kata osae gatame) for the guy with him flipped for some reason.

  3. i dont know wat that is called i would reccomend changing schools and maybe trying to jiu jitsu its better
