What's that japanese food called omigoshi or umigoshi or something ?

hi was wondering if anyone knew what that food is called they showed it on america's next top model when they went to japan. called omigoshi (ooh me go she)

i'm just curious because they all said it was gross

but it doesn't look like it

  1. Umeboshi are great. My kids love them with hot rice in the morning, or rolled into rice balls with seaweed for school lunches (in rural Missouri). Other kids in the lunchroom think its fascinating and always want to try it; you know like Fear Factor. They usually like it once they've tried it.


  2. umeboshi?  is that what you are taking about?  its a pickled plum.  is it reddish and usually eaten with rice?  if u could give a short discription maybe i would know exactly wat u are taking about, cuz i dont watch america's next top model.

  3. So you're sure it was gross, although you have no idea what it is. Didn't it give any indication of what it was? What did the picture look like? Was it a round pink thing?

    There are only 3 food references to the exact word you spelled. It might be a pickled plum or plum vinegar. The pickled plum is great in onigiri. It's salty and sour. Very traditional.
