  1. they are called sprouts and if you plant those potatoes about 8 to 10 inches deep and weed and cultivate them they will grow you a nice crop of potatoes. ps leave about 10 to 12 inches between potatoes.

  2. That is post harvest fungi that will grow on all the bruised areas of the potato.

  3. They are called potato spouts. That is the spud trying to grow. Just throw them out

  4. This would be the stems of the new plant. they grow very long looking for some sunlight. They stay white until they find some light, when they turn green, or die.

  5. if what your referring to is the hard white spheres that grow on the surface, it is a spud, like everyone else says.

if it isnt like that, it is probably mold

  6. plant it in the garden.

  7. They're called eyes (if i remember right) and those things will actually grow into a new potato plant if you were to plant that potato.

  8. Thats an adaption for growing underground in potatoes. Their thickness allows them to "burrow" through soil. Thats why they are pale, they don't use light and lack chlorophyll. When they reach light, those sprouts turn into stems and form leaves.
