Question:

What's the 'coolest' gun you can buy (that's legal)?

Basically, I get to pick out my gun and my dad pays for it on an upcoming birthday in the near future. I thought I'd start my research early on. I don't know too much about guns (although my dad pretty much knows all about them). I want something 'cool' if that makes sense and just wanted some input on it. Please, help me!

  1. Guns are like cars and women.  There are so many cool ones, you just don't know where to start!

  2. cool like good lookc or prices well an Ar-15 either colt or bushmaster would be excellent choice it resembels the m-16 slight and shoots .223 ammo which is plenty big ennuf for anything youll need it for

a handgun a glcok  or ruger in bigger caliber than 9mm

  3. I'd buy you some maturity lessons.

Guns are tools... not bad or good in themself's...they can kill or maim.

That being said..edit your post and let us compare and contrast what you think the "cool" guns are.

Sounds like you just can't formulate a question...dont feel bad, most kids your age can't these days.

  4. NO.  You don't want a "cool" gun.  You want a reliable gun.  You might use it all your life to shoot paper plates, but if you find yourself needing to shoot an attacker, you won't care what it looks like   Your only concern is whether the bullet hits the target and stops the threat.

As long as "cool" is a criterion, for your gun selection, you are not mature enough to possess a gun.

  5. You will have to tell us exactly what you mean when you say "cool".  A cool gun to me may not be the same as a cool gun to you.

  6. Well what does he use them for? Hunting? What is his favorite thing to hunt?

  7. smith and wesson 500

  8. I think Makarovs are pretty neat. they're cute. and they pack quite a punch!

  9. Against my better judgment......I'm gonna suggest a Glock, to add the "COOL" factor have it nickle-plated and it will look chromed and pretty.

I cant believe I just said that.

  10. Believe It Or Not There Is Two Kinds of Pistols, Manual and Automatic.

If You Want a Dangerous Gun, Get a SMG for rapid shooting or a rifle, if you want it to be portable and hanheld, then by the common ones like a:

    Recommended:

Desert Eagle (Really Strong Recoil, Has To Be Held With 2 Hands)

    Common:

    9mm

    45mm

    Magnum LX

    Falcon

    Magsec

    140 mm Mags Side Holster

and more but these are common

Good News, Some Guns Can Be Color Customized, Some Has To Be Held With 2 Hands.

Illegal, You Cannot Have a a Silencer.

    Hope This Helps!

  11. Quite frankly asking other people is not the way to go about it. After all, it is YOUR opinion of whats "cool." I am a fan of sniper rifles personally. I think the COBB BA50 (.50 cal) is the "coolest" seeing as I think the Barret M82A is way over used. Then again I don't think your dad would like to spend $4900 on a gun and then at least $700 on the scope and scope rings (for a good one that can handle the recoil). Then at $10 a round its not the cheapest to shoot either. So for something besides that, I think a CZ 750  ($1999) or an Armalite AR-10 ($1506-$2828 depending on barrel length). Keep in mind though, none of these come with scopes so your looking at an extra $600-1000 for the scope and rings. Oh and you will probably want to get a bipod as well so thats another $100 gone. It all depends on what your dad is willing to spend.

  12. Get a Scar-L When they come out on the civilian Market.  Get  AKS-74u.  if you get the one with the 16 Inch barrel, It doesn't have to be registered as A SBR,  (short Barreled Rifle)  But if it has a standard 8 1/4 inch barrel your gunna have to pay an extra 200 bucks for the NFA transfer tax stamp.  And register it as a SBR.

  13. Tyra, please define 'cool.'  Also, are you getting a rifle, revolver or pistol?  Will you be hunting with it or just target shooting?

A .22 rimfire is always a great starter gun for a novice shooter.  Rifle:  the Ruger 10/22 is a great little semi-automatic rifle.  There are so many options for it and you can even get a custom one from the Ruger Company for something $1,035 US currency.

    Good luck.

  14. depends

If you like a good heavy handgun then I would pick a .45Cal 1911

If you want something more practical for personal defense then a 9mm

  15. I don't know about "cool", because I don't normally think of guns that way, and I would wager that neither do most of the people that populate this site. Since your dad's pretty familiar with guns, let him decide what type of gun fits whatever job you're going to do with it. Assuming you're a young girl, and this is your first firearm, I would suggest a .22 rifle. There are some little bitty ones out there called a "Cricket" that are designed for young beginners. They even come in PINK stocks. My little niece got one, and she loves it.

  16. The "cool" firearm that women first fancied was the Derringer pistol. It's defiantly a short ranged defensive weapon, but they practically have no weight and are easy to concealed.  They can also be quite fancy so there is a lot of variety on the looks of the pistol.

If you want to go small buird hunting a .410, 16 or 20 gauge shotgun would probably work for you.  The .410 has the smallest load which means less kick.

If you want to shoot just to shoot, many a .22 cal rifle would be best.  They operate like a larger rifle, but have far less kick, less noisy and the ammo is cheaper.
