Ok, here I have two workout routines for you all to critique. I'm 22 years old, 5'11, 155# with a 14% body fat. I am trying to BULK UP and gain muscle fast!! Here are two routines....please state which routine you would pick for me (intermediate gym-2 yrs into the gym) in order to bulk up and why?
ROUTINE 1 (trains each muscle 1x a week with the exception of chest, abs and back):
MONDAY- Back/Abs/Biceps
TUESDAY- Chest and Triceps
WEDNESDAY- Cardio/Abs/Stretch
THURSDAY- Shoulders and Back
FRIDAY- Legs and Chest
SATURDAY- Cardio/Abs/Stretch
SUNDAY- Off!
***Please state if you think I may be in danger of overtraining muscle groups with this first routine. Just curious...!!!***
ROUTINE 2 (one muscle a day routine):
MONDAY- Back with Abs training
TUESDAY- Chest
WEDNESDAY- Legs with Abs training
THURSDAY- Shoulders
FRIDAY- Arms (Triceps, Biceps) with Abs training
SATURDAY- Cardio
SUNDAY- Off!
PS I've been very good with eating a healthy diet with 1g of protein of my bodyweight, along with creatine and glutamine and taking whey protein shakes before and after workout. I also rest well enough (7 to 7 1/2 hours each night). I'm tired of being a bit skinny and want to gain pounds and pounds of muscle, but not be a huge bodybuilder. Ideally, I want to have a lean, built physique!
