  1. There's a church website I recently found that describes pretty well what a Baptist is, in this article called "What Makes a Christian a Baptist."

  2. I can't speak for all Baptists, but Baptists believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that Jesus died for all our sins.  Baptists believe that Bible is inspired word of God.

Christians are a general group that don't consider themselves to be Budhists or Muslims or followers of Baal.

  3. Not all Christians believe this, though to be honest, it's been on my mind recently. I can't say 100% that I agree or disagree with baptism as necessary. :-\

  4. Dude, Baptists are Christian.

Wow that is the first time that I've had to type that.  It's usually "Catholics are Christian genius"

  5. Baptists are Christians.

Unlike many other Christian denominations, Baptists do not baptise people when they are babies.  They say that people have to be adult believers before they can be baptised.

  6. so don't Baptists (as a public display of their new found salvation)

When John the Baptist was Baptizing people did that save them, or was it their faith.

  7. Matthew 7:21.

  8. All Baptists are Christians. Not all Christians are Baptists. Same rule applies to Catholics.

  9. christians believe that when the holy spirit u should be able to shout and do a holy dance. as for baptist they dont believe in that. im christian

  10. if you are referring to a baptist religion, Im sorry I dont know. I am a Christian and a protestant but not a baptist. baptisms is necessary for salvation as it will cleansed your soul, baptism is taken once in your life so be careful if you are already done and baptism must be given to adult and not for babies or children for they are still clean.baptism for becoming a christian is another way to be saved.

    God Bless you.

  11. Baptists ARE Christians! It is a religion within Christianity! Hope this helps!

  12. they are Christians but they dont use crosses or robes and they skip Good Friday...but we all BElieve in the Trinity!

  13.   Baptism does not obtain or contribute toward salvation[ see Ephesians 2;8-9 ]

Not all born again believers are Baptists.

  14. This web site contrasts the differences between the Holy Scriptures and the distinctive teachings of the various churches that call themselves Baptist. Our objective is to help Baptists, and those contemplating joining a Baptist church, to see that many of the distinctive fundamentals of Baptist doctrine are, in fact, false teachings and recently invented traditions of men.

  15. Baptists are Christians that belong to the Baptist denomination.  They agree on most of the major issues with other Christians.

Not all Christians believe that baptism is necessary for salvation, in fact I would venture that most protestant Christians do not believe it is absolutely necessary for salvation, since Jesus told the thief on the cross that he would be with Him in paradise and that thief hadn't been baptized yet and wouldn't get the chance before he died.

  16. Let me say as a Baptist, that I believe, and the Baptist Confession states, that Baptism is NOT necessary for Salvation. The only thing that is necessary is believing the gospel of Christ. Go here to read the Baptist Confession. http://www.vor.org/truth/1689/1689bc00.h...

Also, you don't have to be a Baptist to be a Christian, but you must be a Christian to be a true Baptist.

  17. When was it that Baptists stopped using crosses?
