What's the Hindi expression for '[It was] a long time ago' or equivalent?

I'm guessing starts 'vaha' and ends 'hai' and involves the world 'samay'...can you type it in English phonetics if you know, please, because I am only learning to speak Hindi and I can't read Devangari yet :)
