  1. Well, I think you just answered your own question....

    *SIGH*

  2. dead

  3. My wife is from India; some of the words pertaining to vegetarianism are Ahimsa (non-violence), Satvic (vegetarian food and abstaining from intoxication). Some Hindus use the word Naam, meaning they have taken an oath to not eat meat or take intoxicating drugs. The English word "vegetarian" is in common usage in India. It is often abbreviated as "veg."

As the answerer above me reminds us; Columbus apparently thought he went to India when he reached the Americas. After more than 500 years, some of us still call Native Americans "Indians?"

  4. Not sure there would be a translation for it, but you would have to know which "Indian" language you would want it translated from.

It is not in the Creek or Cherokee language.

So I can see the translation of "cant hunt" in Lakota.

Its not a word used by Indians.

  5. hungry

  6. People..it's a joke. Sheesh! :)

Vegetarian = Indian word for 'Lousy Hunter'.

  7. No, the word "vegetarian" is of English origin with Latin roots. It doesn't have anything to do with any of the First Nations or either type of "Indian".

Your Lakota friend has a very juvenile sense of humor.

  8. That's funny.

But what funnier is that you still believe those stories about Columbus finding India.
