What's the advantage of a baitcast reel? Are they more versatile than spincasters?

Dik's had a 6 bearing one on sale for $45 marked down from $70. I guess that's good.

  1. Stronger and simpler design, compared to spincast...possibly might cast further, too.  Less to break, compared to a spincast.

    I don't know about the casting--I've always owned spincast reels myself.
